Prairie City Grand Prix; event was hit by a brutal January storm Sunday which produce incredible “wet & muddy” conditions.
Congratulations to the SNA Motorcycle Race Team, who survived the brutal January storm and the 1st round of the 2010 AMA District 36 race.
Prairie City is located just east of Sacramento in the low Sierra Nevada foothills in northern California, so it’s not uncommon to expect cold, wet & muddy conditions in January but this year’s storm produce some of the most
challenging wet & muddy conditions in years. The cold, wet & muddy conditions added a huge challenge for all the racers and fans who faced the brutal storm head-on as if it was a sunny day. The challenging January weather brought out the best in everyone who raced and the fans who even helped the racers out in many occasions to allow the racers to make it through some of the most difficult sections of the course.
Congratulations to all the district 36 racers who survived the brutal January storm and special thanks to
all the fans who helped out and endured the incredible wet & muddy conditions!!!
It just goes to show when the motorcycle community is faced with a challenge we all rise to the occasion because it’s “not” Golf it’s outdoor motorcycle racing!!!

Thanks: Mark – It’s all about Adventure
What a great first round kick-off! Talk about separating the men from the boys. If you went through a race like this you really love this stuff. Ya it rained, it was slippery, soggy, and gnarly, but damn it was a blast. I’m proud of our guys who came out and braved it. Team riders John and Louis rode in the downpour the whole time. I’m just stoked I finished! Fellow SNA member and c-squid Ed Cox got to ride in the early morning cold-N-fog. Way to go Ed. Big thanks to all the SNA members who attended and came by the SNA compound to support us. Like I said, you got a SNA Race Team beanie coming to ya just for watching us in that weather.
This is just the beginnning to another great d36 amateur race season. Keep watching for future events and stay up to date on d36 happenings by going here: http://www.ama-d36.org
Even if you don’t race, there will be a whole year of fun, BBQ’s and give aways, so don’t miss out.
