Here’s your opportunity for a three-day ADVENTURE ride to EXPLORE the most remote and undeveloped section of California's Pacific coastline, with miles of deserted beaches, scenic overlooks, amazing fern canyons, and many miles through ancient redwood groves to view the tallest trees on earth while exploring the amazing Lost Coast ADVENTURE Rally!

The amazing Lost Coast is a remote 80-mile stretch of the Pacific Coastline in the heart of the Redwood Empire in Northern California. It was named the "Lost Coast" after the area experienced depopulation in the 1930s. In addition, the steepness and related geotechnical challenges of the remote coastal mountains made this stretch of coastline too costly for the road builders to construct a state highway or county road through this steep rugged landscape, leaving it the most undeveloped and remote portion of the California Coast. In fact, this rugged landscape is the longest section of undeveloped coastline in the 48 contiguous United States.

Your three-day ADVENTURE ride begins in the small coastal town of Fort Bragg as you venture north on scenic Highway 1 to Devonte Lookout located at the southern edge of the Lost Coast. A short distance beyond the scenic lookout your off-road adventure begins as you venture into the remote Lost Coast for an amazing adventure ride. The first leg of your off-road adventure climbs up and out of a forest-covered canyon on a twisty curvy dirt road with lush ferns and ancient redwood trees around every corner. Several miles north of the canyon, small gaps in the forest reveal sights of the steep rugged coastline hundreds of feet below. As you continue navigating through the lush forest you will suddenly arrive at a scenic overlook that provides breathtaking views of a remote beach below which is nestled between steep rugged mountains on both sides. You will have the opportunity for a short break at this point to take in the incredible scenery. After a short break, your adventure continues through the forest as you descend on the curvy twisty dirt road toward the remote beach. Before long you will arrive at a narrow wooden bridge surrounded by a magnificent grove of chinquapin trees. From this point, you will have the opportunity to travel due west to the remote beach which is the southernmost beach in the Sinkyone Wilderness. Beyond this scenic beach, your off-road adventure is turned up a notch as you venture into possibly the most remote stretch of dirt road on the entire Pacific Coast. This remote stretch of dirt road takes you deep into an old-growth redwood forest that few people dare to explore. The redwoods are so tall, and the forest canopy is so thick that the sunlight rarely reaches the ground. As you find yourself deeper in the forest with every twist of the throttle, the sunlight of the day seems to vanish into a dimly lit landscape from another world. This appears to be the land of the lost, where mysterious legends of Bigfoot or Sasquatch roam free.

After exploring the mysterious forest of the Lost Coast, you will have the opportunity to visit the small coastal community of Shelter Cove including the historic Cape Mendocino Lighthouse. After having lunch in Shelter Cove your off-road adventure continues north through the rugged Kings Range. This scenic dirt road meanders through the forest with scenic views of the Pacific Coast off in the distance. Continuing, you will arrive in the small, isolated community of Honeydew located along the scenic Mattole River. From Honeydew, your adventure continues up a curvy road on the north side of the Mattole River then ventures through the majestic Humboldt Redwoods. This ancient grove of giant redwood trees is among the largest and tallest trees on earth. Beyond the giants, your adventure travels to the small town of Fortuna for your first-night stay where you will enjoy food and drinks at the local Eel River Brewery.

Day two of your adventure begins in Fortuna as you travel further north into the majestic Redwood National Park to explore an amazing route with a combination of on-road and off-road adventures. A short distance beyond Fortuna you will travel through the coastal town of Eureka which is a charming seaport town bordered by the beautiful Humboldt Bay, and soaring redwood forest. Beyond Eureka, your off-road adventure begins as you explore Redwood National Park and past the tallest trees in the world. Your adventure continues as you travel along the mighty Klamath River heading west until it flows into the sea. The Klamath River is the second largest river in California and originates from the Upper Klamath Lake, east of the Cascade Range. The mighty Klamath River flows more than 250 miles and drains an area of about 13,000 square miles through southern Oregon and Northern California before emptying into the Pacific Coast near Klamath, California.

Beyond the Klamath River, your adventure travels south along the scenic Pacific Coast and returns to Fortuna for your second night's stay and dinner at the local Eel River Brewery for tasty food and cold craft beer, and camaraderie. 

The North Coast region also known as the Redwood Empire covers a vast stretch of land that lies on the Pacific Coast between San Francisco Bay and the Oregon border. This picturesque coastal region is home to the tallest trees on earth, where ocean fog rolls in from the ocean to blanket lush redwood forests, where whales spout offshore along black sand beaches and adventure is around every corner.

Coast redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens) earth’s tallest trees are one of life’s most humbling and amazing experiences when exploring the forest amongst these massive trees. These California Redwood trees can reach higher than a 30-floor skyscraper (more than 350 feet), so high that the tops are out of sight. The tallest tree in the world is the Hyperion coastal redwood tree which reaches a staggering 379 ft. tall. This enormous tree located in the heart of Redwood National Park on the northern California Coast was discovered in August 2006. Their trunks can grow up to 30 feet wide, about nine paces by an average adult person! Even more incredible: The coastal redwood trees can live for more than 2,000 years. In fact, some of these ancient coast redwood trees living today were alive during the time of the Roman Empire and before our current calendar was established. Redwood trees once grew throughout the Northern Hemisphere, with the oldest redwood fossils discovered dating back more than 200 million years to the Jurassic period. These amazing Coastal Redwood Sequoia trees have inspired human beings since the dawn of time. Celebrated the world over, coastal redwoods stretch from Humboldt County’s vast plains to the fog-shrouded valleys of the Big Sur Coast. The mystique of these ancient redwood forests will draw you in and provide adventure around every corner.

Day three of your adventure explores the northern region of the Lost Coast past a secluded black sand beach, then ventures off the tarmac and into the forest for an off-road adventure through the Kings Range and eventually back to Fort Bragg.
